Karen works to bring innovative ideas and fundamental kindness to every project. She has won awards for photography, writing and community development. Karen received the Global X Foundation Award for Innovation 2018, was named the Digital Influencer of the Year 2019 at the Dutch Press Awards, and was given a Barclays Social Entrepreneur Award 2022 for positively driving social and environmental change through business.

Karen works with individuals and businesses, from start-ups to well-known brands and corporations. Her areas of expertise include brand identity, creative perspective, product development, innovation, and community development.

Karen has advised on creative and educational programmes for museums and galleries, produced exhibitions and developed spaces in historic and listed buildings, collaborating with organisations such as The National Archive, English Heritage and Cambridge University.

She’s consulted for arts organisations and local government to raise over £2 million in arts funding, and worked on public art commissioning and social planning for Grosvenor, Plan Projects, Hemmingway Design and Freebridge. 

She has supported businesses such as Lotus and Fujifilm with community development, offering advice on connecting with and growing their audience through authenticity, and has developed brand awareness through tailored events for companies as varied as Pink Lady and Rush. She also works closely with those in the travel, hospitality and food and drink industries, sharing their stories and creating PR and sponsorship opportunities.

As the founder and co-director of Toiletries Amnesty Karen has developed extensive collaborations, from connecting with start-ups to working in partnership with Europe’s leading online premium beauty retailers.

Karen acts as a juror and reviewer for many photography exhibitions, festivals and events. She also offers portfolio reviews for photographers through Shutter Hub.
