Karen’s main curational focus is on producing exhibitions of photography with Shutter Hub, the organisation she founded to create a supportive community for photographers and to provide a platform for the development of ideas and careers.

Shutter Hub has become known for its impressive and unconventional largescale exhibitions, showcasing hundreds of works from around the world. These exhibitions have featured in publications such as the British Journal of Photography and The Guardian, and have been recognised by others in the industry as democratising photography through their accessibility.

Alongside curating photography, printmaking, sculpture, and fine art installations, Karen has advised on creative and educational programmes for museums and galleries, public art commissioning, and developing exhibition spaces in historic and listed buildings.

Amongst many locations across the UK and Europe, Karen has created exhibitions for Cambridge University, Menier Gallery London, Old Truman Brewery London, Alfred Gallery Tel Aviv, 5&33 Gallery Amsterdam, and the international street art festival Pow! Wow! Rotterdam.
